WITHIN A DAY OR TWO OF OUR POSTING THE HIRED GUNS OF THE HCPD, AND NAMING, THE TWO OFFICERS, SEAN KENT AND RYAN THOMAS, ACCUSED OF BEATING MELVIN YATES VIRTUALLY INTO UNCONSCIOUSNESS, AFTER HE WAS HANDCUFFED AND FACE DOWN ON THE GROUND, (THEIR STANDARD MODUS OPERANDI), WE OBSERVED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, UNIFORMED HOWARD COUNTY COPS, CIRCLING OUR PERSONAL RESIDENCE.

ON THE FIRST INCIDENT, WE SAW FOUR TIGHTLY HUDDLED TOGETHER UNIFORMED HOWARD COUNTY COPS, WALKING DOWN THE BACK SIDE OF OUR BUILDING, THEN CONTINUE THEIR STALKING UP THE FRONT SIDE, MAKING A COMPLETE CIRCLE AND RETURNING TO THE POINT AT WHICH THEY STARTED THEIR JOURNEY.

ON THE SECOND EVENT TWO DAYS LATER, WE WITNESSED THE EXACT SAME PATH TAKEN BY TWO MORE UNIFORMED COPS. THEY CLEARLY WERE NOT INVESTIGATING ANY CRIMINAL ACTIVITY, AND WE CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT LAWS THEY WERE ENFORCING. WE'VE CONCLUDED IT WAS MEANT AS A SHOW OF FORCE!
A THREAT?
YES OBVIOUSLY!
BUT A THREAT TO DO WHAT?

READY FOR ANOTHER EXCESS OF OUR INTEGRITY RICH HOWARD COUNTY POLICE OFFICERS?

WE CAN ONLY PRESUME THIS PRACTICE, TOO, IS INTENDED TO TERRORIZE THOSE OF US WHO SHINE THE WHITE HOT LIGHT OF OUR INTERNET COMMUNITY ON A CORRUPT, WASTEFUL AND THREATENING POLICE DEPARTMENT.

AGAIN, CIRCLING THE BLOCK SURROUNDING OUR PERSONAL RESIDENCE, BUT NOW IN POLICE CARS, HOWARD COUNTY COPS HAVE BEEN SPOTTED USING INFRA RED IMAGING EQUIPMENT, TO MONITOR US IN OUR BEDROOMS DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE THEIR HANDS FULL PURSUING THE VIOLENT CRIMINALS WHO CARRY OUT THEIR DIRTY DEEDS UNDER THE COVER OF DARKNESS. AND MAYBE JUST AS IMPORTANTLY, WHAT THE HELL CONCERN IS IT OF THE GOVERNMENT, WHAT WE ARE DOING IN THE PRIVACY OF OUR BEDROOMS AT 3 OR 4 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING, ESPECIALLY HAVING TO GO TO SUCH EXTREMES AS EMPLOYING SOPHISTICATED INFRA RED BODY IMAGING TECHNOLOGY THAT TAXPAYERS HAVE PURCHASED FOR USE IN LEGITIMATE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS.

23 Year old Melvin Yates, a licensed barber and a father, was brutally beaten by Howard County Police officers. The trouble started after someone called the police to break up a fight at the Cazabe Restaurant in Jessup, Maryland, where Yates was hosting a memorial service for his deceased father.

Yates' lawsuit alleges that once he was handcuffed, the brutality started. The 23-year-old man says police officers, Ryan Thomas and Sean Kent, slammed his face into the pavement, punched him, kicked him, and choked him to the point of near unconsciousness. Adding insult to injury, it happened in front of his mother. Yates believes he was beaten, because he is African-American.

Law Enforcement - Jacking up..........

Are you one of those gullible types who thought that law enforcement was always on the side of whats right, and good, and legal?

I've always heard these kinds of things were happening to some individuals in the community, but never gave them any credibility, till now.

Consider this police radio transmission I heard on a scanner recently.

Police Officer #1 - "I just saw Tyrone ******* up on the boulevard. Want to go jack him up?"

Police Officer #2 - "It's been a very long day and I have a very bad headache. We'll get him next time."

On the one hand this police radio transmission says very little. On the other hand it says much. Maybe much too much. Maybe much more than most of us would like to know, but all of us need to know.

I don't know if jacking up in police jargon means the same thing as it does in street slang, but if it does, these two police officers were conspiring to commit a violent criminal assault on a private citizen who, it sounds like, was just walking down the boulevard not bothering anybody. This consideration of jacking up Tyrone doesn't even seem to be related to enforcing any laws.

There is no indication in this transmission that there was an arrest warrant issued for Tyrone, or that he was suspected of being involved in any particular criminal act, but even if he was it wouldn't justify a violent physical assault on him. If there had been a warrant issued or any real belief that he was involved in criminal behavior, police officer #2 never would have said - I've got a headache and we'll get him later. If he had any value as a police officer and concerned for the safety of his community he would have said - Hell yes. Headache or no headache, let's get this piece of shit off the street before he hurts somebody else. But he didn't. As a matter of fact it sounds like this proposed assault was just a means for two bored police officers to entertain themselves on a slow night.

What was it about Tyrone these officers didn't like?

His hair?

His clothes?

His after shave lotion?

Is this the quality of individuals our government is commissioning as police officers with a badge, a gun and a license to kill? Based on this one incident, it appears so. Rather than patrolling the community to keep the rest of us safe from those who would do us harm, some police officers are scouring the streets searching to beat up and terrorize private citizens, of whom they disapprove, for reasons that have nothing to do with law enforcement. Rather than removing the criminal element from the streets, they instead become the criminal element that threatens the physical safety of all of us and our families. These two police officers were ordering up a violent criminal assault on a citizen like some of us order up a hamburger and fries.

AND THEY ANSWER TO NO ONE!

As for you Tyrone, I don't know anything about you. I don't know if you're a career criminal, an ax murderer, child rapist, a Sunday School teacher or all of the above. I don't know if you're a good person or a bad person. I don't know if you're one of Americas most wanted in your town, or on the run from the law. I don't know if you ever got your threatened jacking up and, Tyrone, I don't know if you're dead or alive. I don't know if your battered remains are rotting beneath a desolate decaying bridge in your town, or if your corpse is lying alongside a long forgotten trail serving as a feast for all Gods creatures great and small.

What I do know is that your proposed assault is indicative of a corrupt police department and the corrupt government that directs them. I do know that law enforcement officers like this, who have no moral compass, forfeit any right to sit in judgement, legal or moral, of anybody, especially when their own ranks are rife with violent individuals who chose a career in law enforcement, not because of the oft repeated claim that they like helping people, but because it provides them with the means to impose a primitive political and social agenda. A social agenda thats based on their own unresolved adolescent ignorances and bigotries, that most of us outgrew in the maturation process, and those that didn't chose careers where these societal misfits are free to rain terror on those segments of our communities they'd prefer never existed. Their minds are unevolved and they remain frozen in a state of intellectual arrested development.

These are not the qualities of individuals that we need to protect us, these are the qualities of individuals we need to be protected from, and it would serve both the citizens and law enforcement communities well to not lose sight of that fact.

While I do have grievances with our local Howard County Police Department, in all fairness, (Why would I want to be fair to the HCPD? hmmmmm. Like Sarah Palin told Katie Couric, "I'll have to get back to you on that."), the transmission referred to above was NOT a Howard County transmission. But based on my first hand experience with the HCPD, and considering the stories many of you have told me, it could have been. It certainly could have been-couldn't it?

Reports have been circulating for some time now that there are police officers who are spending an inordinate amount of time cruising sex sites on department computers and while being paid taxpayer dollars to protect the public.
